Honest comparison

Target Omni vs an Autodarts kit.

The Omni is Target’s auto-scoring ring: four HD cameras, its own lighting, magnetic fitting, a slick app. It costs £499.95 and its online play runs through DartCounter. Here is the like-for-like.

What the Omni costs, really

The Omni is £499.95 on Target’s own UK store (target-darts.co.uk, checked 27 August 2026). Hardware-wise that is genuinely complete — ring light, cameras and processing box in one unit, run from your phone or tablet.

The catch is the software side. The Omni works exclusively with DartCounter, whose free tier caps you at three online games a week. Unlimited online play needs a DartCounter subscription at roughly £4.30 a month — about £540 for hardware plus a first year of unlimited play (a three-month trial is included and reflected in that figure).

What an Autodarts kit costs

A complete kit from us is £299.98 delivered: pre-configured mini PC, cameras, mounts and a light ring. The Autodarts platform is free with no caps — unlimited online matches, full statistics and entry to the automated online tournaments. (Plus, £5.99/mo or £59.99/yr, is optional — it adds advanced stats, extra game modes and running tournaments of your own.) Target quotes 99.7% accuracy for the Omni; Autodarts’ developers publish 99%+ for their platform. Both auto-score to a level where you stop thinking about it.

And if you already own a light ring, £139.99 buys just the cameras and mounts printed for it — a path the Omni cannot offer, because its cameras are built into its own ring.

When the Omni is the right call

If you are invested in the DartCounter ecosystem, want a single magnetically-fitted unit with a household name on the box, and the subscription does not bother you, the Omni is a tidy product.

If you would rather pay roughly half, own the whole stack outright and never see a throw cap or a monthly fee, that is us.

The short version

Omni: £499.95 plus about £43 a year for unlimited online play, tied to DartCounter. Autodarts kit from us: £299.98 all-in, unlimited free online play on the Autodarts platform, free UK delivery, free remote setup, and mount kits for the ring you already own.
